Hobbies

Topping my current hobby list are the plethora of horses we have.  In fact, because Troy and I have become horse owners again, we've got a webpage devoted to horse 'stuff' in the Rogue Valley called "Southern Oregon Equestrian". If you follow this link, you will get to pictures of our horses. (and the dogs, the cat, the goat...)

Okay, I have to admit it... I do play computer games.  Currently topping the list is "City of Heroes" and "City of Villians" where I play a couple of different characters.  We did recreate some of our old Superhero MUSH characters, so I can be found on the Triumph server playing either Synapse AG (one of the in game characters is named Synapse... it's a male character, and he's not even a mentalist... oh brother!), Cotton Kandi, Peregrine. (yes, there is a period behind her name), Redivivus, Blythe Spirit, Real Justice...oh no, this list is getting longer...I'm a geek.  I'm a total geek...

A former diversion of mine is the Society for Creative Anachronism, a world-wide organization which pursues study of and recreational interest in the Middle Ages through Re-creation. In that setting, I went by Asleif Einarsdottir. She was this Nordic type person.   It's kinda fun to get all dressed up in what we consider weird clothing and act a little differently than one normally does.

While I haven't participated in the SCA in several years, now that I've rediscovered horsemanship, maybe one of these days I'll try to do some of the Equestrian Activities.

I do admit to sitting in front of the TV on certain nights.  The Crocodile Hunter was at the top of my list, and my soul cried out when I saw that he had died. Out of all of the 'men/wildlife' shows on Animal Planet, I think Steve and Terri Irwin were the ones who truly did their show, not for acclaim or an adrenaline high, but to educate others about the world we live in and to show the importance of all life. They will always be heroes of mine. We will also take time out of the day to watch Stargate SG1, and Stargate Atlantis..probably just because it's on right after..I love the new Doctor Who, and Heroes, while a bit slow to start, is another one we don't miss. (Thank goodness for TiVo)

Music is something that I spend a lot of time with as I do the commute to work in the morning.  My taste is what one would call eclectic.  There's the standard 'chick' stuff, like Sarah McLachlan, Paula Cole, Dar Williams, and then the different sounds of Kate Bush, the Celtic music of Loreena McKennitt...  Because I was a teen in the 80's, 80's dance music is sure fun to listen to, including Oingo Boingo, The Cure, Dead or Alive.. the list goes on.  The Eagles are awesome.  Peter Gabriel.  Metallica.  Pearl Jam. Shania Twain. Siouxsie and the BansheesJethro Tull. Steeleye Span...... and so many more.
