Lady Anna riding TraskBegin planning now to saddle up your warhorse, polish your armor, string your bow, grab your lance, broadsword or rapier, and make the journey to the Hocktide Emprise for a celebration of the return of Sol to these climes with 3 days of martial activities, on foot and from horseback, Summits Muster, a Hocktide Feast and general merriment.

This year's Hocktide will be held at the Farwood Horse Park, in White City, Or. (Map)

Yes, this is a horse friendly event. Very horse friendly. The entire event is declared a "horse area" so we suggest everyone view the "Equestrian Etiquette" page for some important tips to help riders and pedestrians interact safely and happily.

While many activities planned are directed at the equestrian community, we will also have things that non-riders will find entertaining, including a Rapier Prize Tournament, Armored Foot tournament and Archery competition, War Practice, as well and classes and entertainment throughout the day.

In our continuing attempt to make SCA equestrian activities more mainstream, we fully integrate horse activities into the more standard SCA endeavors.

To this end, we have taken what had been traditionally a one day Hocktide celebration and expanded it by putting the feast right in the middle of a full weekend of tournament fun. Those who came to last year's Emprise gave it rave review but this year will be bigger and better!.
