Now for the Logistical Details

The site for this years event is Farwood Horse Park. This facility offers multiple arenas, horse park w/cross country course and stall accommodations and camping. There is a fair amount of parking both for trucks with horse trailers and cars for those who are not bringing horses.  Pets must be leashed at all times. Children must be supervised at all times.

Drinking: This is a Discretely Wet Site so alcoholic beverages in period containers are allowed, but getting drunk and making a spectacle of yourself is not. As a wise fellow recently put it, "Folks sitting around a fire, drinking and singing is okay. Tunic-less idiots running around hollering and wrestling is not. 2nd group NO one likes." ;>

Pre-registration: Pre-registration is encouraged for everyone to help us accurately predict the turnout to expect and plan accordingly. However, it is mandatory for all equestrians and merchants and highly recommended for those wishing to reserve a camping space in the Period Camping Area. Click on the following links for the General Pre-Registration Form or the Equestrian Pre-Registration Form. or those bringing horses, accommodations for their mounts have also been arranged in 12'X12' panel stalls without covers and will cost $15 a night, per horse, checks made out to Farwood Horse Park, to be collected at the Gate.

Water: There is potable water on site, however it might be some distance from where you choose to camp so we always suggest everyone bring their own drinking water.

Food On Site: The site owners will be operating a "Snack Bar" during the day, serving grilled hotdogs and hamburgers and such. We also expect to have food merchants serving somewhat less "modern" fair.

Camping: Camping will be available Thursday, Friday and Saturday with Sunday nights for those who have a long haul home and want to do it in the daylight hours. Open fires will not be allowed in the Period or Horse camping areas, though portable fire pits will be allowed and are encouraged. Properly supervised ground fires will be allow for those camping in the War camp area.

Accommodations: For those with no desire to camp this early in the season, there are several very nice motels within 15 minutes of the event site offering comfortable lodging in the near by town of Shady Cove and even more less than 30 minutes away in Medford. The closest motel is the La Quinta Inn & Suites with rates starting at $84 per night.

On Site RV Rental: Another Option..., you can rent an RV for $300 for 3 nights and have it waiting for you at the event site when you arrive. These are not tent trailers but actual hard side camping trailers, complete with kitchens and bathrooms with showers, in sizes that sleep up to 8. Contact the Autocrat as soon as possible if you wish to take advantage of this option.

Costs for the event are…  $15 for Adults, $10 for youth, 12 and under no charge, $40 family Cap (Immediate family only, excluding horses and Non Member Surcharge), $5 for someone merely day tripping (day tripping fee does not include feast main course for Saturday, an additional $5 will buy into that.) The standard non-member surcharge of $3 will apply to all adults passing through gate, even for a single day. Checks payable to the Shire of Glyn Dwfn.
