HUNTER CONTEST AT SUMMITS HOCKTIDE EMPRISE

While the term "Hunter" is a modern one, hunting from horseback was a common activity for Nobility and Gentry. While Rouncey and Courser type horses where often used, even a Palfrey might find itself in the field chasing after game.

This contest is an opportunity for Hunters to show their skills with Spear, Javelin and Bow from the back of their horses. The challenges and scoring are as follows:

Vertical Spear/Javelin - Striking straight down in the top of the target. One Target
Lateral Spear/Javelin - Throwing a short distance at a target while riding by. Two Targets
Pig Sticking - Taking a 'pig' with the point of a spear and lifting it into the air. Two Runs
Archery - Riding by a target and shooting on the move. Three targets (Those not authorized for Archery may make a additional Javelin throw but at half score.)

Scoring:

Vertical Spear/Javelin - 20 points
Lateral Spear/Javelin - 20 points each.
Pig Sticking - 20 points each
Archery - 10/20/30 points depending on accuracy.

Speed modifier - Walk/Slow Trot X1 - Fast Trot/Slow Canter X2 - Fast Canter/Faster X3

Having barding for the horse or not may be a factor in determining a winner in the case of a tie.
